John was an amazing athlete and artist, who put 100% into everything he did. More importantly, he was a friend that anyone would have been blessed to have. It saddens us to know that John's life did not grace us for a long time, but we are honored to have known him at all. It is truly by God's grace that we were chosen to know him and are given the opportunity to run for him. Several of the members of Team JAF did not know John personally, but are still touched by his life through those of us who did. That is why we will run a collective 128 miles in his memory on November 22nd.
We are hoping that John's life and our commitment to this race will inspire you to make a donation to the John A. Fiocco Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded yearly to a student at Clearview Regional High School who displays the extraordinary characteristics that John embodied. We are hoping that we can play a part in helping students like John be rewarded for their efforts and ease the financial burden of college tuition.
